CSA FAQ

CSA members can develop a closer relationship to food and the land that produces it.

What if I am unable to pick up my box one week?
Each CSA site is associated with a food bank or community center that will gladly accept any extra or un-needed food so no food will ever go to waste.  If you're traveling for a week and want to donate your share to the charity we'll gladly add it to the farm's weekly donation for you. You may also send someone in your place to pick up your box.

How does it work?
Members pick a convenient location from our multiple pickup sites, pay a membership fee, and come to the CSA Pickup Site to get the freshest and most flavorful washed vegetables available.  Pickups are once per week in the Summer and once every other week in the Winter.  We also have a limited home delivery area.  If you are in Greenhills, Oakhill, Belle Meade, or Forest Hills area we'll gladly deliver your vegetables to you.

What's in my share?
It changes monthly as the seasons change. In early spring we start off with cooler weather veggies like broccoli, kale, lettuce, parsley, carrots, etc... Summer time offers tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash, cilantro, etc... When fall comes, expect winter squash, potatoes, greens, onions, beets, collards, etc... Tennessee winters allow beets, carrots, green onions, collards, chard, etc... See the top of this page for a complete list. We really like to eat what is in season, because that is when the produce is at its most flavorful and nutritious state.

Can I get a smaller share?
Yes. We have some folks that prefer a smaller amount than a full share (1/2 bushel) each week, so we offer a half share (1/4 bushel).

Can I change my mind?
Yes, we want everyone to have the best and healthiest food, so we want to make it easy.  Sign up for a membership and try it out.  If you want to convert to a half share, or cancel all together, we will gladly refund the remaining amount.

My family is picky and may not like all the different vegetables!
I agree and you can tell us if you don't want a certain crop, we'll replace it with something you like.
